Imagination

I pretty sure that everyone here knows what imagination is, but really, do you? The dictionary defines that imagination is the faculty of imagining, or of forming mental images or concepts of what is not actually present to the senses. Which is basically creating images in your mind, and being creative. My main concern is young generation children losing their ability to imagine. Because imagination almost applies to everything you do on a daily bases. Writing, drawing, making new things, or even just pear thinking… What is taking over? Fancy toys and machine, aka, the Digital World. We can’t change the fact that we are addicted to these things, but sometime we can just go out, and enjoy nature of a moment. Get your imagination back and make the world a better place. I also found a quote online by someone called Jarod Kintz, he said, “I think all toys should be invisible. Not only would they improve children’s imaginations, but they’d also be really affordable. In fact, every toy would be free.”.

Halloween

Is that time of year again, Halloween is right around the corner. Is time for delicious treats, scary decorations, and crazy costumes. Halloween is one of my favorite holiday because I got one day to be someone else, eat a tone of candy and still won't be judged. Last year's Halloween was like a fairy tail to me. When I got to school, I saw people dressed as famous celebrity, movie characters, book characters, etc. It felt like I was in a movie. That is why I am so excited for this year's Halloween because the creative ideas of people come up for what they want to be, the possibilities are endless. In China, I have
never experienced with Halloween. People of China don't really like to celebrate things that related with death. They do have a day dedicated to honor them, where we go the their grave and burn incense. So celebrating Halloween is something new and fun for me, I can't wait for this year's to arrive!

Why We Love Drawing (And You Should, Too!)

Drawing is some thing most of us learned to do since primary school. It is a way to help people express their emotions, to put away stress, and to enhance creativity.

Initially, many people have trouble expressing their emotions, some use drawing to help them. If they were feeling happy, they could use bright and warm color. If they were sad, they could use dark and cold colors. This helps some people to express themselves better.

Secondly, drawing has the ability to take away people's stress. When people are focus on their drawing and the details, they won't be able to think about all the other things. This way stress will not take over people's body.

Lastly, drawing will enhance people's creativity. Like everything else, you practice hard enough you can get better. People need to think of something draw, just by doing that, is creativity.

However, you don't have to draw for these reasons. You can write, play music, read, act, run, and all kinds of other things! Do something that makes you feel happy.

However drawing is the top of my list. :)

Sophomore Year

Being a sophomore has been a challenge for me. I'm slowly sinking in the fact that I am no longer

a naive freshman. I have noticed that the first thing I do after school is finishing homework and the

hour of my sleep have been shorter. When I was a freshman, I did my homework to get it over with,

but now I do it with effort. In my room, my roommate and I lack of time for ourselves, and the past

two weeks were stressful for us. However, a little stress won't hurt. This year is different and will be

different. I have already made new friends and started talking to new people. I habe been going to

play volleyball with Tami almost every single day. There isn't time for myself and I'm OK with that.

When there are things to do, I feel like I'm really living. Summer was fun, but now it is time to

work. My goal this year is to study hard, work hard, have fun, and enjoy my short sophomore year.

This year I will be more energetic and happier!

To be honest, I am not really excited for my junior year.

Take a Seat - Make a Friend?

Take a Seat - Make a Friend?

While I was surfing on the internet, I came across with a video called Take a Seat - Make a Friend?. It was about a ball pool set up in the middle of a road and has a sign that said Take a Seat - Make a Friend? . Strangers went inside and became friends. That does seem kind of scripted, but the idea of this video is fascinating. They were just strangers. However when they were in the ball pool away from their own world and just talked, they found something in common. People who got something in common really build a connection between each other.

Taking the idea seriously and reforming it, we could make friends more easily. Maybe we can take the idea to schools (of course, the ball pool is an option). On the first day of school, people tend to be really shy. It's hard to make friends when you are too shy to talk. Maybe in class, teacher can create activities that are similar to that video. New students will slowly feel comfortable and show their true self. Of course, you can't make friends with everyone else. There are people who are just not meant to be your friends.

It is interesting to watch how people can connect so easily if they leave the real world behind. If it weren’t for this video, maybe they would just walk by each other. Maybe they will ignore each other or judge them by their appearance. In this society, especially in the city, people don't connect, not with their neighbor, and not with anyone! I know many people have 500 friends on Facebook, but in real life, do people really know these people well? Like this video, we need to do more face-to-face conversations.

This video warms my heart; I hope it warms yours too.
